What does the "contactless" future look like?

You already know about contactless ordering and payment.

However, we are still in the early stages of their development and the possibilities that already exist for biometric identification or voice recognition, in France at least.

In reality, "contactless" concerns many other interactions, some of which will quickly interest the the food service industry.

The craziest: a menu on a hologram

The invention is all the more resonant because it is being talked about in a particularly restrictive health context. Holo Industries (a brand of Convergence Promotions LLC, which should become a full company in the coming weeks) has developed a solution with multiple applications.

For restaurateurs, it will be possible to offer customers interactive menus that appear as a hologram.

Take a look: the result is striking.

The strangest thing to imagine: autonomous delivery robots

There has been a lot of talk about drone delivery projects, particularly expected by Amazon but also by Google, the first company to deliver by drone in the United States via its subsidiary Wing.

Beyond the big players of the Web, the question of meal and food delivery at the foot of a building or directly to the house is raised all the more as this market explodes and the sanitary and ethical questions linked to the fleets of deliverymen do not cease to come back to the front of the stage.

It is therefore not risky to predict a bright future for the first generations of autonomous delivery robots, like the vehicles designed by Starship Technologies (a company propelled by 2 founders of Skype...).

You can also watch this video published by BuzzFeed, which tried to steal a delivery from a robot. It makes you smile, but above all it allows you to see how this type of device evolves in an urban environment!

Autonomous robots are easier to implement than drones, but there are still a lot of challenges to their large-scale deployment. To be continued!

The most discreet: a multifunctional hygienic personal hook

Don't be fooled by its MacGyver-ness or by the fact that it may be less spectacular than previous innovations.

The Yanook, a multifunctional hook developed by a French start-up, allows you to perform a multitude of daily gestures by eliminating direct contact, from dialing a credit card code to opening a faucet, pressing an elevator button ...

The invention is aimed at both the general public and professionals.

For example, restaurant owners can choose this item to improve the protection of their employees and collaborators on a daily basis.

The hook is very affordable, food safe and easy to clean. It is even possible to have it customized with your brand's colors!
